Admittedly, We’re Sad The Anarchy Scenario Is No Longer Possible…

…however what is shaping up may be better than seven 11-7 teams. Beware–this is a long post with a lot of numbers. This is the print and paste stuff you need to refer to all weekend long.

Analysis stuff even later today…

First things first:

VCU 12-4: @JMU, Ga State

Nor’easter 11-5: @Drexel, ODU

Mason 11-5: @UNCW, Towson

Drexel 10-6: Nor’easter, @W&M

Old Dominion 10-6: W&M, @Nor’easter

Hofstra 10-6: @Ga State, UNCW

JMU 9-7: VCU, @Delaware

Georgia State 7-9: Hofstra, @VCU

Delaware 5-11: @Towson, JMU

William & Mary 4-12: @ODU, Drexel

Towson 4-12: Delaware, @Mason

UNCW 3-13: Mason, @Hofstra

***

Relevant tiebreaker scenarios:

Nor’easter holds the edge over Mason. The two teams split head-to-head, but the the Huskies defeated VCU and Mason lost to VCU. In the case of a three-way tie, NU>VCU>GMU.

For the coveted #4 seed, we have ODU, Hofstra, Drexel, and JMU competing:

Drexel 2-2

JMU 0-1

Hofstra 2-0

ODU 0-1

JMU 2-3

Drexel 1-0

Hofstra 0-2

ODU 1-1

Hofstra 3-3

Drexel 0-2

JMU 2-0

ODU 1-0

ODU 2-2

Drexel 1-0

JMU 1-1

Hofstra 0-1

Since Nor’easter has a toughie to finish–at Drexel and home to ODU–let’s add them to the mix, and we have five teams for two spots (#3 and #4 seed):

Nor’easter 3-2

JMU 1-0

Hofstra 1-1

ODU 1-0, vs. 2/28

Drexel  0-1, @2/25

Drexel 3-2

JMU 0-1

Hofstra 2-0

ODU 0-1

NU  1-0, vs. 2/25 (wow!)

JMU 2-4

Drexel 1-0

Hofstra 0-2

ODU 1-1

NU  0-1

Hofstra 4-4

Drexel 0-2

JMU 2-0

ODU 1-0

NU 1-1

ODU 2-3

Drexel 1-0

JMU 1-1

Hofstra 0-1

NU 0-1, @2/28

And towards the bottom, Towson and The College split this season. W&Ms victory over Nor’easter will trump Towson’s win over JMU.

A late side note I don’t want you to miss: I’m believing this entire season revolves around Poor Bill and Nor’easter.

The own the best nonconference win. They’ve received more Katz/Goodman attention than anyone. They raced out of the gates and assumed control of the league. They were the offended BracketBusters team. They’ve lost three in a row and four of five.

And they will shape the CAA Tournament based on how they perform in the final two games of the season.

They are at Drexel and host ODU. Nor’easter could win the league title and get the #1 seed by defeating two very good teams. “Right the ship” would be written everywhere, and everyone would fear them in Richmond.

They could lose them both and free fall their way to about #7.

Or, they could do something in between.

Yeah, that about sums it all up.
