Can Santa Claus Come Tonight?

All good writers in this medium–“blogger” has become a way too nebulous term–are giving their holiday schedule. The way the days are lining up allows for extended vacations. The thinking is that since you are not at your office, you can’t just log in to random websites whenever you want.

In that holiday spirit, here’s mine: I don’t know.

There will be something tomorrow. After that, no promises until the first of the new year. I don’t have any huge holiday plans, but none of my plans involve this space.

So check back.

Drexel is being tatered right now by Memphis. Other than that, tonight:

Towson at Bowling Green: These are remarkably similar teams, right down to RPI and four double-digit scorers. Towson is my homer pick, for no other reason than I follow the CAA.

UMES at Old Dominion: If you attend this game, you are a college basketball fan and I salute you. And I mean that.

The Dub at Troy: After this one, UNCW hosts a good Richmond team. The new year brings roadies to Mason and VCU. They need this one over Troy for so many reasons. The Mossmen took down Troy in early November 107-95. Since then they’ve lost 8 of 9 and not been close in any of the losses. Take those facts and you know what I mean.

Nor’easter at Indiana: I saw Indiana slip by IUPUI earlier this year and thought Inadiana should’ve lost that game. Nor’easter bombed IUPUI to open its season 73-60. Of course the whole common opponent thing has Elon beating North Carolina. I still have faith in the Huskies, and they get one here.

Seton Hall at James Madison: Madison should’ve won this game last year. I’m too lazy to look up the statistics, but JMU was winning by about seven with round about 50 seconds to play and lost in overtime, something like 111-108. Was it teh Beach Boys that samg “Wouldn’t It Be Nice?”

Tulane at George Mason: The Green Wave is 5-4 but not a good basketball team on the road. Mason rolls big time here, about 72-56.

I hadn’t done the math, but this would be a good night to have a good night.
