Hofstra’s Agudio Leads Nation In Scoring: Hofstra senior guard Antoine Agudio  leads Division I in scoring with 27.6 ppg according to the latest NCAA stats released through games of Dec. 9. Agudio has scored 30 or more points in three of his four games this season, including a career-best 36 points in a two-point setback at Fordham last Wednesday. 

Towson’s Hairston Dominates The Glass: Towson junior forward Junior Hairston, who ranks second in Division I with 12.9 rebounds per game, grabbed 21 boards in an overtime win over Niagara on Sunday. That total matched the career-high he set in a a victory over Loyola on Nov. 9 and is tied for the 8th-highest game total in CAA history. Hairston joins Navy’s David Robinson as the only CAA player to ever grab 21 or more boards in multiple games in a season.


Eric Maynor, VCU

Maynor averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.0 steals in leading VCU to a pair of victories last week. The junior point guard scored 15 points and had season-highs of nine assists and four steals in a 71-57 win over CAA foe William & Mary and followed with a team-best 25 points and five rebounds in a 65-45 triumph over rival Richmond. Maynor, who has topped the 20-point mark in three of his last four games, shot 55.2% from the floor for the week.


Alphonso Dawson, Delaware

Dawson averaged 13.3 points and 4.7 rebounds as Delaware won two its three games last week. The freshman guard contributed career-highs of 13 points and seven rebounds as the Hens beat Towson 70-63 in their CAA opener and then topped his scoring mark with 18 points and five boards in a 71-60 triumph over Albany. Dawson shot better than 44% from the floor.
