Why Is College Basketball Better Than College Football?

This is why. Absolutely deplorable, incredible, and hysterical. I learned a loooonnggg time ago in Vacation Bible School that ye reap what ye sow.

Can you imagine Mason AD Tom O’Connor hurriedly calling together the members of the NCAA Basketball Selection Committee in early February?

“Gentlemen, the way we structured this big payday isn’t going to work. While we were busy looking at the dollars, we didn’t pay enough attention to the competition aspect of the tournament games. You know, the teams on the court all those sheeple pay to go see.”

How can supposedly intelligent collegiate administrators not, in their risk assessment, throw out the possibility that a BCS conference would have a down year? Oh, that’s right. I’m sure they did. They weighed the $400 bajillion against public outcry of changing the rules of how a champion may be decided less than two months and chose the money.

I forgot.

And that, my friends, is today’s reason why a playoff is smart, and college basketball is the best sport on the planet.
