CAA Honors this week:

CAA MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Will Thomas, George Mason

Sr., F, 6-7, 230, Baltimore, Md./Mount St. Joseph

Thomas averaged 18.0 points and 12.5 rebounds in leading George Mason to a pair of victories last week. The senior forward scored 18 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds in a 67-56 win over Dayton and tallied a team-best 18 points and seven caroms in a 56-47 triumph over Cleveland State. Thomas shot 66.7% from the floor and also had five assists and three blocks.

CAA MEN’S BASKETBALL Co-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Chaisson Allen, Northeastern

Fr., G, 6-4, 185, Murfreesboro, Tenn./Oakland

Allen contributed 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and seven steals as Northeastern fell just short of an upset at ACC foe Maryland last Thursday, falling 74-72 in overtime. The freshman guard scored double digits for the second straight game and recorded the most steals by a Huskies’ player since Feb. 24, 2000.

 

CAA MEN’S BASKETBALL Co-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Charles Jenkins, Hofstra

Fr., G, 6-3, 220, Queens, N.Y./Springfield Gardens

Jenkins poured in 19 points on 7-of-12 FG shooting as Hofstra topped Manhattan 71-69 in overtime last Saturday. The freshman guard sealed the victory by stealing an inbounds pass with 3.5 seconds left and making the two ensuing free throws. Jenkins also had five rebounds and three steals in the game while playing a team-high 44 minutes.
