CAA MEN’S BASKETBALL Co-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
T.J. Carter, UNC Wilmington
Sr., G, 6-3, 200, Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon
Carter averaged 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists as UNC Wilmington extended its winning streak to four with victories over Toledo and Hofstra. The senior guard had 23 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and no turnovers as the Seahawks edged the Pride in overtime in their CAA opener and poured in a team-high 21 points as UNCW downed the defending MAC champions.

Jamal Shuler, VCU
Sr., G, 6-3, 180, Jacksonville, N.C./Jacksonville
Shuler averaged 22.5 points and 6.0 rebounds as VCU split a pair of games last week. The senior guard poured in a career-high 30 points to lead the Rams to an 85-76 win over ACC foe Maryland in the BB&T Classic, and contributed 15 points and seven rebounds in a setback at Hampton. For the week, Shuler shot 53.6% from the floor, including a sizzling 11-of-20 (55%) from 3-point range.
CAA MEN’S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Heiden Ratner, James Madison
Fr., G, 6-0, 170, Las Vegas, Nev./Silverado
Ratner averaged 8.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists off the bench to help lead James Madison to road victories at Eastern Kentucky and Northeastern last week. The freshman guard contributed 11 points and three assists at EKU and five points and three boards at NU as the Dukes got off to their best start since 1986-87. Ratner shot 66.7% from the floor, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range.
Challenging Schedule: Few teams in the nation can match the recent 10-day stretch completed by Old Dominion. The Monarchs faced the teams ranked #1 (North Carolina), #5 (Georgetown), #14 (Louisville) and #18 (Clemson) in this week’s AP poll from Nov. 18 to Nov. 28. The four opponents have a combined record of 24-1.
Hofstra’s Agudio Ranked Fourth In Scoring: Hofstra senior guard Antoine Agudio is fourth in Division I in scoring with 25.5 ppg according to the latest NCAA stats released through games of Dec. 2. Towson junior forward Junior Hairston ranks third in rebounding (12.8 rpg), while Northeastern freshman guard Chaisson Allen is eighth in steals (3.3 spg).
